Find a Therapist Who Fits You
What Sets Our Therapists Apart?
Professional Development
All members of the MMH collective engage in ongoing professional development in the field of men’s mental health as part of membership. That means regular support, consultation, and learning with other MMH mental health professionals.
Writing & Outreach
Each therapist on our directory below is also a writer on the MMH Blog. We believe it is important to be proactive and get involved with the public conversation on men’s issues. Get to know your therapist - their ideas, values, and approach - in their own words.
A Career Working with Men
To become a member of the MMH Collective, applicants have to be practicing, fully licensed therapists who have case loads consisting of 80+ percent men for at least 3+ years. Additionally, many members lead at least one men’s group and have certifications in Men’s Mental Health.

Jonathan Vargas, LCSW (NY, NJ, VT)
You’re the expert in your life, what has worked, what hasn’t and what is important to you now. I bring my psych knowledge, tools, and experience with clients. When we combine these. We can get you where you want to go. People say education is power and I agree, but information alone is useless. When I use my education, it’s not to lecture, instead it’s to empower you, to challenge you, to integrate it. When I work with someone, I’m committed to this process with you. I’ll show up fully, adapt to who you are, and push you compassionately toward growth. You don’t have to do this alone. If you need a teammate who approaches people with kindness, a dab of accountability, and excels at mixing approachable education with pop culture references. Let’s take this road trip together.
Expertise: Healthy high achievement, Neurodivergence, Burnout, and Integrating IFS, DBT, ACT, and Narrative Practices
Ben Stein, LCSW (NY)
Ben is a Brooklyn-based psychotherapist who works with men who feel anxious and walled off from the people around them. He spent four years in a specialty clinic serving ages 14–30 and has a particular feel for younger men still working out who they are. His approach is trauma-informed and goal-directed: the first sessions go toward building trust and practical coping skills, and from there the work moves to the roots of the problem, drawing on psychodynamic therapy, DBT, mindfulness, and interpersonal work. Ben sees individuals, couples, and families virtually.
Expertise: Anxiety, Trauma & PTSD, Loneliness & Disconnection, ADHD, Life Transitions, EMDR & Schema Therapy, LGBTQ+ Men
